Staying Connected

Are you a commuter? Are you in your car all day?  Either traveling for work- from client to client or simply traveling for pleasure but still need to stay connected.  If you need Internet connection while you’re on the go, DayPassWireless can provide you, or your passenger (so you’re not multi-tasking while driving) with high-speed Internet that will not fail.

First your device needs to stay charged.  Many cars today have USB ports, but if they don’t you can purchase an A/C adapter that plugs into the 12-volt cigarette lighter pocket. These adapters can release 100 to 200 watts of power, which is definitely enough to power any cell phone and almost any laptop.  They usually include the three-prong outlet for a computer and some even include a USB port also!  They only cost $20, maximum.  A disclaimer is that these adapters may not last as long as your computer or cell phone (years).

If you’re using a device that requires greater than 200 watts of power, Tripp Lite has possibilities that out put up to 2400 watts, if you tell them what you’re looking for.  And this price range will definitely be greater than $20.

Some on-the-road workers complain about their cell phones consuming too many gigabytes if they are not connected to Wi-Fi.  A trick is to pull into a fast food restaurant like Wendy’s or even Starbucks and use their free Wi-Fi.  If you cannot pull over every time you need reliable Internet access, it is extremely helpful to invest in a mobile wireless router.  DayPassWireless offers 4G, high-speed hotspots for rental for mobile phones under the providers of Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.  Those using Sprint have no usage limit and those will Verizon and AT&T have a generous usage limit of 250 Mega-Bytes of data downloads per day.  However going over that limit results in a small charge of 1 cent per mega-byte.
